They should be as low as possible, and the funds should be used for core federal responsibilities as outlined by the U.S. Constitution. Too many families and small businesses are suffering under high tax burdens, and too many lobbyists are giving loopholes to big corporations.
Tennessee values – and common sense – are what it’s going to take to balance the budget, roll back regulations, lower taxes, achieve peace through strength, and fix our broken healthcare system. I will fight for your gun rights, protect innocent human life, and always stand up for America, just like Ronald Reagan did.
The government has grown well beyond its proper, limited role. We’ve got bureaucrats in Washington exercising vast powers over pretty much every aspect of our society. This over-spending by our all-powerful federal government not only hurts our economy, it erodes the God-given liberty our Founding Fathers fought to enshrine in the Constitution. As your Senator, I will focus on repealing burdensome regulations, rolling back spending and balancing the budget.
Too many Tennesseans (especially in rural communities like mine) were left behind during the Obama years. The economy may be good for government bureaucrats or Wall Street, but it’s a different story for blue-collar workers. I believe we must get the government’s boot off the necks of small businesses, get smarter about regulations, and get busy supporting laws that strengthen free enterprise and capitalism instead of pushing European-style socialism.
We either have a border, or we don’t. Right now, the porous border that separates the United States of America from Mexico is completely unacceptable, and we need to have control over who is coming in here, and for how long.
I am 100% pro-life, and from my short time in Congress I can tell you I am horrified by how much power the abortion industry wields in our nation’s capital. Each unborn child has a God-given right to enter this world with us, and the federal government should protect that right instead of funneling tax dollars to abortionists to profit from killing these babies.
You don’t need me to explain to you that ObamaCare is a disaster. By now, almost everyone understands that the Obama’s government-controlled health care rationing law is failing. The Democrats shoved the bill into law on a party-line vote, against the wishes of the people. It’s been embarrassing to watch our Republican Party fail to get rid of this disaster. I voted repeatedly to repeal ObamaCare and will do so again with no reservations.
As a general matter, I believe in “peace through strength.” I want America to have the most powerful military in the world, by far. I want our soldiers and our counter-terrorism agents to have every tool and weapon possible. And I want rogue states like North Korea and Iran to understand that they threaten the U.S. at their peril.
Barack Obama’s eight-year assault on guns has finally ended, but Tennesseans still need conservative leaders willing to FIGHT the liberals in Congress. I will always stand-up for your Constitutional rights.
The opioid epidemic is a very real and very serious national emergency. It is a tragedy that has touched far too many of our families, not enough is being done to prevent the spread of this crisis. As your Senator, I will combat the opioid epidemic as one of my top priorities. I will make the medical and pharmaceutical communities more accountable for legal, yet lethal, prescription drugs. Nothing is more important than the safety of our loved ones. That’s why we must stop at nothing to end this crisis.
